To date, the chapter has installed a number of new self closing gates in the Fort Bayard Wildlife Refuge and in the Black Range of the Gila National Forest. Additionally, chapter members completed a new section of the Continental Divide Trail and cleared well over 300 miles of trail in the Gila National Forest including trails in the Blue Range Wilderness, Gila Wilderness and the Aldo Leopold Wilderness. Members have participated in one or more of the
following activities: Pleasure Rides with two or more friends. (Link to picture) Having educational speakers at our meetings. Networking to find buddies for riding, camping and hiking. Sharing trail condition information Pot lunch lunches. Pot luck Christmas dinners. Fun outings clearing trails. (Link to pictures) Keeping back country trails open for riding, pack stock, hikers, and cyclists. Holding discussions on Wilderness safety and survival and minimizing impacts on Wilderness (Leave No Trace) Being a member of a worthwhile organization. Additional activities (including trail clearing projects) are planned every year.
